Greetings Commanders and Rangers! Ranger of the Year is well under way for the 2008 year. I hope you've accessed the National Website for the information to be covered this year. If not, you can go to www.royalrangers.ag.org and click on the ROTY link to get the information.
I'm in the planning stages of trying to get dates and places set for Ranger of the Year testing this year. I want to finish District testing either late October or early November to finish before the holidays and have time to prepare for Regionals. I'd also like to try and get some "study/review" dates to help get your boys ready. If you can help in any way or if you have suggestions on places to test for Sectionals or District, please don't hesitate to contact me. Otherwise, I may be contacting you. ;-)
A great tool I learned to use last year was Ranger Navigator. It's phenomenal for keeping score and filling out the forms. their tech support is great, too. If you are chartered you can use it free and legal like. If you are not chartered, you can use it once you are chartered. You have to register it with your charter information before it will let you use it. Besides, if you aren't chartered, you cannot test in Ranger of the Year on sectional level or beyond. So Charter if you need to!
If you have any doubts about Ranger of the Year, just give it a try. Our outpost participated last year for the first time in a verrry loooooong time and our boys ot SO fired up they couldn't wait to start on this year's stuff.
If you have any questions, comments or suggestions, please feel free to contact me at djhollandsr@cox.net.
Always remember a man never stands so tall as when he kneels to help reach, teach and keep boys for Christ!
Blessings to you and your outposts. Let's see what God's gonna do in Kansas Royal Rangers in 2008!
In His Grip for the Boys,
